I had the honor of playing the 22nd Annual Great Cover Up last night. I assembled a band that included my drummer Tommy Garza, Keith Norton on bass, Bart Marcum as Vince Neil and Sarah, Gracie, Faith, Hannah and Angel from Seventeen Sisters as my backing vocalists. We also had David Howie play a harmonica solo and several girls from the Twin City Derby Girls to escort Vince to the stage and join us during the last song. We covered Motley Crue.

The Setlist:
Dr. Feelgood
Shout At The Devil
Smokin' In The Boys Room
Girls Girls Girls

HOW DID THE GREAT COVER UP GET ITS START?

The Didjits were the kingpins of the local music scene circa 1990. A guy named Dave Landis did graphic design work for them (flyers/album covers) and came up with the idea as a benefit for Muscular Dystrophy Association (where his wife worked at the time). He pitched the idea of everyone covering another band to the likes of Poster Children and Honcho Overload and all of the musicians were on board. The line to get in the bar was out the door and down the block both of the first 2 years. So when Dave eventually left town… I basically took the ball and ran with it, and have been running ever since.
